The Knights are off to a really surprising 3-0 start following a 5-2 win over Arizona in the home opener on Tuesday. Vegas paid tribute to the victims of the recent shooting prior to the game and it really seemed to spark the crowd and the team. Vegas has 9 goals while allowing just four this season. The Knights are shooting 33.3 shots per game while allowing 35.7. Mac-Andre Fleury has been outstanding in net, posting a 1.32 GAA and .963 save percentage through three games. James Neal has scored five of the team’s nine goals thus far while Nate Schmidt has one goal and two assists.
Detroit is coming off a 4-2 win at Arizona last night to improve to 3-1 on the season. The Wings are 2-1 on the road so far. Detroit is averaging 29.8 shots per game right now while allowing 36.3 per game. The team is being led by defenseman Mike Green, who has already tallied eight assists this season. Martin Frk is the leading goal-scorer, as he has three this season. Jimmy Howard is 3-0 in net with a 1.62 GAA and .955 save percentage.
Bet on Red Wings vs. Golden Knights
Both goalies are playing well coming into tonight’s game, but I give the edge to the Knights at home. Detroit is coming off playing last night, so the legs could be a little tired and the Wings have a lot of unproven talent. While the Knights aren’t exactly prove either, they have shown great balance in their scoring outside of Neal. I like the great Vegas story to continue tonight.
