Sharks vs. Wild Pick

Are the San Jose Sharks and the host Minnesota Wild going to play a low-scoring game tonight when they meet at 8PM ET?

CURRENT ODDS

According to oddsmakers at YouWager, the Wild are listed as a -160 favorite to win on the moneyline. The Sharks are a +140 underdog, while the total is set at 5.5 goals.

LINE MOVEMENT

Minnesota opened as a -150 favorite before the line was bet up, while the total has stayed at 5.5 since it opened. The line is anywhere from -155 to -160 currently, depending on where you look.

PUBLIC BETTING

As of Sunday afternoon,69 percent of public bets have been placed on the Sharks. Online wager info also shows that 52 percent of bets have been placed on the over.

INJURY TO WATCH

Sharks left winger Marcus Sorensen is questionable today with a wrist injury. For the Wild, defenseman Jonas Brodin is out until early March with a hand injury.

BETTING STRATEGY

The Wild have won four consecutive head-to-head meetings, two at each venue. The lone matchup this season saw Minnesota prevail 4-3 in overtime. San Jose has lost two in a row on the road at Chicago (7-1) and Nashville (3-1), with a struggling offense not mustering much of anything. Expect the Sharks to be better defensively tonight as they have been solid in that area much of the season, but this might be a prolonged offensive slump on the road and playing a good defensive team in the Wild won’t help. Minnesota has won three in a row and its offense is in good shape with at least four goals in all three wins, but it was also against weaker competition than what it will see tonight. I like the under here with two good goalies and strong defenses.
