Maple Leafs vs. Bruins Pick

Will the visiting Toronto Maple Leafs record the win tonight when they play at the Boston Bruins? Game time is slated for 7PM ET.

According to oddsmakers at YouWager, the Bruins are listed as a -125 favorite to win on the spread line. The Maple Leafs are a +105 underdog, while the total is set at 5.5 goals. As of Saturday morning, 53 percent of public bets have come in on Toronto.

The Maple Leafs enter with a 30-18-4-1 record after a 4-0 shutout win Thursday at the Rangers. The Bruins are 30-11-6-2 following a 3-1 home win Thursday over the Blues. Toronto has won both meetings this season and is 6-0 in six meetings since the start of last season. The over is 4-1-1.

In the victory at New York, Curtis McElhinney stopped all 25 shots sent his way to record the shutout. Justin Holl, Zach Hyman, Patrick Marleau and James Van Riemsdyk each scored a goal to pace the offense. The Maple Leafs scored twice in the first period and added two more in the second to put it away.

Boston was led by David Backes, Patrick Bergeron and David Krejci as each scored a goal in the win against St. Louis. Ryan Spooner dished out two assists. Tuukka Rask recorded 32 saves on 33 shots to pick up the victory. Bergeron gave the Bruins a 2-0 advantage early in the third period and after the Blues cut the lead in half with 1:32 remaining, Backes clinched it with an empty netter in the closing seconds.

Toronto is 4-0 in the last four meetings in Boston and 6-0 in the last six meetings overall. The under is 5-1-1 in the last seven meetings.

It all has to end sometime, right? The Bruins eventually have to get one back against the Maple Leafs and why not tonight? Boston is coming off a strong performance two nights agao against the Blues and doesn’t have to do any traveling for this one. Rask should be back in goal. Toronto is coming off a shutout win, but it is still a team that can be vulnerable in the back end. Look for Boston to get the offense it needs before riding Rask the rest of the way.
