St. Louis took a 3-0 lead in the series with a 3-1 win at home in Game 3 on Sunday. The Blues have now won four straight against Minnesota and eight of the last 10 meetings. The Blues come into today’s game 49-29-7 overall and 25-12-5 at home while the Wild are 49-27-9 overall and 22-14-6 on the road.
The Blues took a quick 1-0 lead in Game 3 on a score from Colton Parayko. The Wild tied the score in the second on a goal from Charlie Coyle, but the Blues re-established the lead minutes later when Jaden Schwartz found the net. Alexander Steen then added an insurance goal late in the third. Jake Allen managed 41 saves in the win as Minnesota out-shot the Blues, 41-30.
The Wild lost a few games at home despite playing better hockey. They one again out-shot the Blues in Game 3, but it resulted in yet another loss. Maybe it’s just fate. St. Louis has found a way to get a few more shots past Devan Dubnyk and, being at home, it’s hard to see that not happening again tonight. While the Wild are playing for their lives, the Blues won’t want to pass up a chance of finishing this series at home.
