Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 54 of 58 shots in Wednesday’s 5-4 overtime win over the Washington Capitals. Vasilevskiy broke the record with his 49th save of the night, adding five more, with two of them coming in overtime to secure the win. He matched the mark set by Ben Bishop earlier this season back on Dec. 13. The Russian goaltender seems to be running away with the Vezina trophy. More importantly the Swiss-born forward has registered 11 goals and 23 points across 26 games since coming over to the Hurricanes from the Wild. He had nine goals and 23 points in 46 games in the Twin Cities. He is the only player in the NHL to have 20 or more points with two different teams this season.
