According to oddsmakers at RealBets, the Washington Capitals are currently the favorite to win it all, as they have 9/2 odds. Other short odds to win the Cup are the Chicago Blackhawks (5/1), the Los Angeles Kings (13/2) and the Dallas Stars (8/1).

The Capitals have the best record in the NHL right now at 35-8-4 (74 points) and they have an 11-point lead on any team in the East. Their +54 goal differential is tops of any team in the league by a wide margin. The Capitals have never won the Stanley Cup and only have one conference title (1998) to their credit.

Chicago has the best record in the Western Conference at 33-16-4 overall (70 points) and they hold a 3-point lead in the conference over Dallas. The Blackhawks have a +25 goal differential. The Blackhawks are the defending Stanley Cup champions.

The Kings are the leaders of the Pacific Division at 30-16-3 (63 points). Los Angeles has a 7-point lead in the division, but is fourth in the Western Conference. The Kings have a +16 goal differential. Los Angeles last won the Cup in 2014.

Dallas has the second-best record in the West right now at 31-14-5 (67 points). The Stars have a +29 goal differential, which is second best in the NHL. The Stars last won the Stanley Cup in 1999.
