The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Gerry Dulac reports that there is ‘no chance’ that quarterback Ben Roethlisberger suits up for the Steelers on Sunday.
Roethlisberger is officially listed as questionable against the Browns after suffering a foot injury last Sunday in a win over the Raiders. Michael Vick said on Friday that backup Landry Jones would “absolutely, definitely” be the starter when the Steelers kick off versus the Browns at 1:00PM ET.
In related news, the Cleveland Plain Dealer’s Mary Kay Cabot reports that Johnny Manziel is likely to start against the Steelers. Browns coach Mike Pettine said Josh McCown will start if he’s healthy but he was only able to practice on a limited basis all week. Manziel took the first-team reps this week, which is often an indication that a quarterback will start on Sunday.
The Steelers opened as 4.5-point favorite but the line has jumped to 6 according to oddsmakers from online sports book Mybookie.ag. The total, meanwhile, is sitting at 41.5 points.
